Armel Barraud was born in France. She lives and works in the region of Paris. She studied Applied Arts and went to the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs of Paris where she chose the Animated Movie Program. She focused the artistic research on the making of weft and networking. She learned the bovvin lace technique with craftspeople who taught her gestures belonging to the ephemeral world heritage which will soon disappear if it is no renewed.

As an artist she looked for a new use of bobbin lace applied to space. She makes lace drawing with silver thread, metal thread and other materials.

Each work is the result of dialogue between space and the metal thead which imposes its own movement.
