Yannick Daverton’s approach lies somewhere between the world of textile and that of images, though it is not that of a photographer nor that of a fashion designer. His training in clothes designing before going to art school has given him a taste for textiles and opened up the range of his possibilities.

His images question the futility of a society as revealed by textile consumption and exposes the illusion thus created. The installation at the Chapelle des Cordeliers probes into the gender problem and the tasks usually ascribed to each gender.

All tracks are thus covered even though the carpet delimiting the space of the installation firmly puts us inside the home. Each object is to be thought of as a bearded woman – or some pink candy floss.

He presented his work during the FITE 2012.
